1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Align mobile application ("App," "Services"), operated by Align App ("Align," "we," "us"). Align is a personal development app that helps you build self-awareness, set goals, journal, and grow through AI-powered tools.
By installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 years old in the European Union) to use Align. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. We do not knowingly provide the Services to anyone under the applicable minimum age.
3. Your Account
3.1 Account Creation
To use Align, you must sign in using Google or Apple authentication. We do not support email/password registration. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your sign-in credentials with your authentication provider.
3.2 One Account Per Person
Each Account is for your personal use only. You may not share, sell, transfer, or rent your Account to anyone else. You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits, trial restrictions, or other controls.
3.3 Account Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your Account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in abusive behavior, or attempted to manipulate the Services (including circumventing trial limits or rate limits). We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before or at the time of suspension.
4. License to Use the App
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. This license does not include the right to:
- Copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the App or its code
- Use the App for commercial purposes or to build competing products
- Use bots, scrapers, automation tools, or any unauthorized means to access the Services
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems or attempt to bypass security measures
- Access other users' data or Accounts
5. Your Content — Ownership and Rights
5.1 You Own Your Content
You retain full ownership of all personal content you create in Align ("User Content"), including your journal entries, morning pages, Core Identity quiz responses, vision board images, personal context notes, ritual responses, and any other data you enter.
Align does not claim ownership of your User Content.
5.2 Limited License to Provide the Services
By using the App, you grant Align a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your User Content solely to provide the Services to you. This includes:
- Storing your data in our database so you can access it across sessions
- Sending relevant portions of your data to our AI provider (Google Gemini) to generate personalized insights, affirmations, chat responses, and reports — as described in our Privacy Policy
- Displaying your content back to you within the App
This license exists only for as long as your Account is active. When you delete your Account, all your User Content is permanently deleted (see Section 11).
5.3 No Selling, No Training, No Sharing
We will never sell your User Content, use it to train AI models, share it with advertisers, or make it available to other users. Your personal data is used exclusively to deliver the App's features to you.
5.4 Content Restrictions
You agree not to upload or create content that is illegal, infringes on the intellectual property rights of others, or contains malware. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms, though we do not proactively monitor your private content.
6. AI-Powered Features
6.1 How AI Works in Align
Align uses Google's Gemini AI to power features including the Frequencies chat, affirmation generation, Observer reports, journal alchemy, Day Architect, and Vault tools. When you use these features, relevant portions of your data (such as your journal entries, Core Identity responses, and chat history) are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate a personalized response.
All AI processing happens server-side through our secure infrastructure. Your data is sent to Google under their API terms, which state that API data is not used to train Google's models.
6.2 AI Limitations
AI-generated content in Align (including insights, affirmations, reports, and chat responses) is for personal development and informational purposes only. It is not professional advice — it is not therapy, medical advice, financial advice, or legal counsel. You should not rely on AI-generated content as a substitute for professional guidance.
Align does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of AI-generated content. AI responses may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate.
6.3 AI Usage Limits
AI features are subject to usage limits based on your subscription tier. Free users receive a limited trial of AI features. We rate-limit AI requests per user and per IP address to prevent abuse and ensure fair access.
7. Subscriptions and Payments
7.1 Subscription Plans
Align offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions unlock additional AI features and higher usage limits. Details of current plans and pricing are displayed in the App before purchase.
7.2 Billing and Auto-Renewal
Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (collectively, "Store"). By subscribing, you authorize the Store to charge your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your selected plan).
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Store account settings:
- Apple: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
- Google: Google Play → Subscriptions
7.3 Free Trials
If offered, free trials automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled. Trial eligibility is limited to one trial per user. We use device fingerprinting to detect re-installation abuse of trial periods.
7.4 Refunds
Refunds for subscriptions are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store according to their respective refund policies. Align does not process payments directly and cannot issue refunds. To request a refund, contact Apple or Google through their standard support channels.

8. Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in the App itself — including its code, design, artwork, documentation, AI prompts, and branding — belong to Align. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property except the limited license in Section 4.
9. Third-Party Services
Align relies on the following third-party services to operate:

Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. Align is not responsible for the practices or availability of third-party services.
10. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please read our Privacy Policy for detailed information about what data we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights regarding your data.
11. Account Deletion
You can permanently delete your Account and all associated data at any time from the Settings screen in the App. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. All your User Content, including journals, quiz responses, vision board images, chat history, and all other personal data, is permanently removed from our database and storage systems.

12. Warranty Disclaimer
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. AI-generated content is provided without guarantees of accuracy or suitability.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ALIGN SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOST PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION.
ALIGN'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO ALIGN IN THE SIX (6) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Align harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Services.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you should stop using the App.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the member state in which Align operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
If a dispute arises, we encourage you to contact us first at alignappeu@gmail.com to seek an informal resolution. If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, it shall be submitted to the competent courts of the European Union member state in which Align is established.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable EU consumer protection law.
17. General
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
- Assignment: We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our written consent.
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Align regarding the Services.
- No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
18. Feedback
We welcome feedback, suggestions, and ideas for improving Align. If you submit feedback to us at alignappeu@gmail.com, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that feedback to improve the Services. This license applies only to feedback and suggestions — not to your personal User Content.
